More than 80 years
importer of food and delicatessen.
Everything
started in 1923 when the young Dutchman MR. VAN THYN visited Paris.
The visit was more expensive than expected and he had to work to
earn his trip back. He eventually never returned to Holland and
founded in 1924 ETS A. VAN. THYN.
From
then on the company imported fish, mussels, short - bread, salted
biscuits, chocolate and more.
In
1960 VAN THYN settled down in Paris, Rue Pierre Lescot, nearby The
"Halles".
The suppliers are for most of them Dutch firms : ROKA, Van MEULEN,
CALVE, CONIMEX, HOLLANDIA et De FAAM.
In
1969, The "Halles" left Paris to Rungis. With the disappearance
of the "Heart" of Paris, , Ets A VAN THYN move to Ivry,
Rue Molière.
The depot, already separated from the business premisses is located
at 45130 Meung sur Loire in order to be able to deliver customers
throughout France.
In 1996, Mr Adrianus WEBER took over the firm.
Some suppliers from the 60's are still supplier, and others came.
ETS A VAN THYN is specialized in delicatessen (epicerie fine) but
also imports general food stuff and products like sugar and individually
wrapped biscuits from firms like Buitema, Roka, delivered under
distributor brands.

Among the other products sold by A VAN THYN, let's quote ; Melba
toast and milk bread toast from Van Der MEULEN, Peanut paste from
CALVE, Cereal bar from RAVENSBERGEN, chocolates from WEBER
CHOCOLADE, industrial pastry from FRIJLING and so on...
Also supplying portion packs of sugar, the firm naturally numbers
among its clients organizations and purveyors of coffee
